Another day in paradise...

Today was the perfect day.  I was able to walk to a friends house and thus get in some needed exercise and then took a ride with her to her warehouse where she runs a non-profit feeding and clothing the needy in Mexico.  I then met my family for lunch and now have plans to go out tonight to celebrate the New Year.  We are so blessed in this country and I am grateful for so much.

Since I quit my job to be able to spend more quality time with my family it has me given more time to think as well  and one thing I've noticed is that when you have your life priorities 'straight' it helps with your perspective.  And when your perspective is clear...you see things differently.  As opposed to when you are under a lot of stress and always in a hurry...one can forget what is most important to you.  God, family, friends and the needy.  If you haven't yet, take a look at http://www.hilariousgivers.org/ and if you have the chance volunteer some time or donate a few dollars to help out those who aren't as fortunate as we are on this side of the border.  And the peace you feel as a result of knowing you did something good for someone else can really be more fulfilling than an hour in front of the television or a fast food meal.  Happy New Years everyone!
